Tomás Yankelevich De Giacomi (born 1977) is an Argentine film director, film producer, screenwriter, television director and television producer. The son of Argentine director, producer and composer Cris Morena and the brother of actress Romina Yan, he debuted as the producer of talents show Popstars, which created girl group Bandana. Yankelevich also directed two box office hits Vivir Intentando and Erreway: 4 Caminos, and the Cris Morena Group series Amor Mio.

Family and personal life

Yankelevich was born in 1977 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to actor Gustavo Yankelevich and actress, producer, director and musician Cris Morena.[1] His older sister, actress Romina Yan, died on 28 September 2010 suffering a heart attack.[2][3] On 20 December 2008, Yankelevich married television actress Sofía Reca.[4][5]

Career

Yankelevich debutes as the producer of talents and reality show Popstars: Argentina, which created girl group Bandana.[6] In 2003, Yankelevich directed film Vivir Intentando, his directing debut, which starred Bandana.[6] The film was a box office hit, as well as its following film Erreway: 4 Caminos, which starred popular pop rock band Erreway.[7] 4 Caminos was directed as the spin–off film of the series Rebelde Way, directed by Yankelevich's mother Cris Morena. In 2005, he directed and wrote the Cris Morena Group series Amor Mio, which starred his sister Romina Yan.[7]

In 2011, Yankelevich will produce two television series, Casi Ángeles spin–off Super Torpe with Pablo Martínez and Candela Vetrano, and Cuando me sonreis with Facundo Arana, Mariana Espósito and Benjamín Rojas.[8]
